As Diana Ross once sang in Central Park, "We are a family, we are so much more than just you and I." And Ross's big family — five kids and eight grandchildren — is particularly tight-knit.
She first became a grandmother in 2009, when Raif-Henok was born to her eldest daughter (with Berry Gordy), Rhonda. Daughter Chudney (with first husband Robert Ellis Silberstein) is mom to Callaway and Everlee; her sons from second husband Arne Naess, Ross (father to Leif and Indigo) and Evan (stepfather to Bronx and dad to Ziggy and Jagger) round out her kids who are parents to her grandchildren. (Daughter Tracee does not have kids.)
They spend Halloweens and holidays together, join her on the red carpet to support her at awards shows and national honor ceremonies, and she dotes on them in turn, even wearing a shawl with a massive 13-ft. train to the Met Gala in 2025, which was embroidered with the names of her children and grandchildren. She posed with them to commemorate the event (the image above depicts Diana in the gown with her eight grandchildren. Bronx, Ziggy, Jagger, Everlee and Leif are to her left, and Indigo, Callaway and Raif are to her right).
Ross loves her role as a grandma. She told PEOPLE in 2025, "I just want to be in their presence. I want them to see me, and I want to be able to see them. If I'm needed, for sure I will babysit. Being with my grandkids means everything to me. If spoiling them means loving them – Yes! I do that, I do a lot of that."

The Ross family loves a theme outfit, so it's no surprise that several members donned "Straight Outta Diana Ross" tees as a joke at their matriarch's 78th birthday bash, as seen in a photo shared by Rhonda.
"I am so grateful for all the blessings in my life for there are so many," Ross wrote when she shared a similar photo.

The legendary singer has stepped out with her big family at several public events over the years. When she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement award at the 2017 American Music Awards, she took several adorable pictures with her grandkids, including this group shot in the press room, and even brought them onstage to join her in song.
