- Zayn Malik posted an Instagram Story revealing that he's "still unexpectedly recovering" after being hospitalized due to an undisclosed illness.

- "Heartbroken that I can't see you all this week... am so thankful for your understanding," Malik wrote to his fans.

- Malik's team shared that several upcoming appearances were canceled "given Zayn's recent health update."

Zayn Malik needs some time to recover, and that means he's had to cancel some upcoming appearances.

The singer revealed that he was recently hospitalized in an Instagram Story post on Friday, sharing that he is "still unexpectedly recovering" from an undisclosed illness, and will have to miss several scheduled appearances in which he would meet with his fans.

"To my fans - Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always- been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering," Malik, 33, wrote over a photo of him lying in a hospital bed. "Heartbroken that I can't see you all this week, I wouldn't be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding."

The British singer went on to thank "the incredible hospital staff" of doctors, nurses, cardiologists, and administrative workers that "helped along the way."

"You are all legends!" Malik added.

Malik's team, which runs the Instagram account @inzayn, also posted to their Instagram Story, sharing the several upcoming appearances that were canceled "given Zayn's recent health update."

The canceled events include: meet and greets at the Looney Tunes Record Store on Long Island, New York; Newbury Comics in Boston; Rough Trade in New York City; and the Sound Garden in Baltimore.

The team noted that the pop-up shop at UMusic in New York City scheduled for April 20 will still go on, but Malik will not appear for a planned meet and greet.

The pop-up shop was in promotion of Malik's fifth studio album *Konnakol*, which was released on Friday. Malik is currently still slated to kick off his first-ever headline arena and stadium tour in support of the album on May 12. The tour will mark Malik's first time headlining arenas and stadiums across North America, South America, Mexico, and the U.K.
